Norwegian Forest Table Light

Norwegian Forest lights draw on a classic Scandinavian tradition of using thin birch strips for lighting. Norwegian Forest lights show a deep pine forest with animals in light and shade. When lit, the blonde birch veneer shines with a warm glow, and the delicately cut forest motif allows white light to filter out between the trees.

The shade (32x32cm) is made from thin birch veneer. The veneer is carefully laser cut by a skilled airplane model maker. The steel lamp stand (H58cm) is custom made at a metal workshop and powder coated white. Thin natural leather lace is wound around the legs, to soften the touch against the table surface. The veneer shade is then hand sewn onto the frame using leather lace.The assembly and leather detailing is done by hand in the designer’s Oslo studio.
